The history of Grace & Truth Baptist Church begins at 925 S King St. with Chinese Southern Baptist Church (CSBC). With a vision to reach the unreached Chinese immigrant population, CSBC faithfully ministered to locals in the surrounding Seattle neighborhood. The Lord was at work and as CSBC grew, so did an English speaking congregation. 

A need for an English service became apparent and CSBC formed an English Ministry that began to meet next door in a small portable building. In His continued faithfulness, the Lord grew the English Ministry beyond the portable’s capacity. With prayer and reliance on Him, CSBC began a building campaign for a new English Ministry building.

The Lord abundantly provided and in 2009, the portable building was demolished and a new building was built at 515 10th Ave S, Seattle, WA 98104. With such a blessing entrusted to us from the Lord, the English Ministry of CSBC continued to faithfully gather, worship, and minister to its congregants.

The Lord continued to lead and grow the English Ministry. In 2025, with much prayer and wisdom from Him in the years leading up to it, both Chinese and English congregations of CSBC affirmed the direction for the English Ministry of CSBC to become its own church. 

In January of 2026, the English Ministry of CSBC became Grace & Truth Baptist Church and continues to meet at 515 10th Ave S, Seattle, WA 98104.
